This design-build project utilized a true team approach to assist the University in realizing their vision of a state-of-the-art tennis venue capable of hosting NCAA caliber events while retaining the dignity and historic character of the college’s other buildings.

The Center features four regulation courts housed in an ample playing area with special attention given to lighting, comfort, and clearances for championship play. The courts are arranged in a unique manner that gives spectators on the viewing mezzanine level clear line of sight to all four matches. A spacious lobby entrance is contained within the distinctive “Gatehouse” that anchors the front facade and leads to support areas for the tennis team and faculty users.

Quality, innovation and attention to detail mark this project as another showpiece for Washington & Lee University and J. M. Turner & Company, Inc.
